Rocket Languages Vs Rosetta Stone:

Languages are important in our life.  In the business part of life it is a sign of how serious a business is to expand into different countries with a professional amount of respect for the country they wish to expand into – like a verbal handshake so to speak.  There are certain countries who appreciate if a tourist attempts to speak their language and gives the helping hand of generally speaking English – the language that the majority of countries speak when their own language is not used.   The purpose of this article is to look at the differences between Rocket Languages Vs Rosetta Stone language courses.

Rocket Languages:

Languages currently available on this course are:  American Sign Language, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese and Chinese.  Your choice of language is available on CD but can alternatively be downloaded.  Something that is rapidly becoming the more preferred method of purchasing audio tracks.

Rocket Languages is made up of three areas:  MegaVerb, MegaAudio and MegaVocab: these three areas make the learning a living thing – in that you, in MegaAudio match up images to phrases.  All these methods make the learning easier and you can be more at ease with the language rather than having the book and hoping that the pronunciation is somewhere near to how it’s actually meant to sound like!

Rocket Languages cost alot less than Rosetta Stone to download which is a major selling point.

Rosetta Stone:

The list of language courses available from Rosetta Stone are impressive; as well as the languages listed with Rocket Languages you also have:  Arabic, Polish, Russian, Greek, Swedish, Hindi, Thai, Turkish, Irish and Welsh.  This list is great in that we are not forgetting the languages that aren’t used in the business world but unfortunately are becoming less and less known.

Rosetta Stone used a method called Dynamic Immersion – This method is based on how we learn our first spoken language and is used with the computer to be of aid – both visually and audio.  Its aim is to not give you lists of verbs but more using natural interaction and thus making learning a much more everyday feel.  This programme also uses a clever method called the Adaptive Recall and reintroduces languages you may have difficulty in learning into different times during the course – easing you into becoming more aware of the language and giving you better understanding.

The Rosetta Stone Languages course is a good deal more expensive than its Rocket Languages competition.  The cheapest combination is to purchase CD-ROM levels 1, 2 and 3 for $549.00 (this price includes “Audio Companion”).

Both Rocket Languages and Rosetta Stone give demos and this should give the customer a better idea of which product supplier is more suitable to them.  Learning a language can be difficult as we get older and the decision must be made carefully.  Whichever you choose you will soon have the gift of a new language and an opening to different corners of the earth to visit without your knowledge of the spoken word getting in your way.
