The end of the week comes around and a notification drops into your email for an all hands meeting on Monday morning. Rumour is widespread. What is this all about? Are we canning the current project? Are posts on the line? It is a long weekend.

Monday comes – finally! The top bosses are attending the all hands meeting – it must be serious then! Yes it is. They are advising staff of the closure of the site in six months’ time and all the jobs are at risk of redundancy. Shock sets in. The whole site will be shut down. Around two hundred people looking for work. It is your worst nightmare come true.

There you were, doing a good job for the business, paying your mortgage and household bills, running a nice car and all of a sudden somebody else has pulled the rug from under your feet. You are annoyed, upset, confused, but you realize that you must gather your thoughts and choose what your next course of action will be.

It may be that you decide you are never going to put yourself in this position again, and one way to achieve this would be to Work From Home, for yourself. You have many abilities and it is important to be confident about them when your career bubble has just exploded. At a time when the Internet Business is gathering pace, you may find the best Online Jobs are just waiting for you.

While you are still in negotiation with your current employer, it would be a perfect opportunity to re-train, so that by the time you are redundant, you are ready to begin your Internet Business and can hit the ground running. You will become one of the many redundant employees looking for a new job. Not only are you no longer involved with cutting technology, you now need to find another job – for you any employment will do, but for the youngsters they still want to have the cool mum. Lots of their pals’ mums are teachers, nurses, shop assistants. Their mum was distinct and they don’t want to relinquish that status.

So, you go through adverts, Online Jobs, job centre adverts, agency adverts, you dream about jobs, your whole life revolves around getting that next job. Then a little star glimmers at you. You have seen what you think may be your textbook perfect new role. It is an opportunity to start an Internet Business, with a new technology, and at the same time Work From Home. It could be you have pinpointed something that suits you and appeals to the children at the same time.

When I was looking through the Online Jobs, I came across an option to join an Internet Business as a franchisee, which was actually affordable, so I carried out some investigations to confirm that the job was as it appeared in the advert.

This new venture was in the field of search engine optimization. It advised that I would need only basic internet skills, and all training would be included in the price I paid. As I have recently been taking Open University training in ITC, which overlapped with some of the skills which would transfer to this work, I was eager to find out more.

I had interviews and meetings with the founder of this franchise and we were both pleased for me to join this Internet Business.

Another plus was that I would be able to Work From Home. I already had a phone, pc, internet connection and access to a printer, which are really the only tools necessary to begin in this venture. Within weeks of seeing this opportunity in the Online Jobs, I had begun my training. My youngsters are happy that I am once again working with cutting edge technology and they love the fact that they can tell folk I am now the owner of an Internet Business where I have the opportunity to Work From Home. Cool mum reigns!

Even a few days after Xmas, can we remember every present we received and from whom? I try to do this every year, but usually have difficulty within a month of remembering them all. Is it that I am not grateful? I think not, I am very thankful for what my family get for me, so what is it that stops me from immediately remembering all the parcels. Am I too pampered and receive so many it would be hopeless to remember them all? No, I receive from about half a dozen family and friends. I consider it is because I have so many things going on in my thoughts at any one time, I find it difficult to centre on just one.

In the first instance, there is my family. As with most families today, it is a complex situation, each individual with their own troubles, and this takes up a wide portion of my thoughts. Apart from that I have my property, which as with most homes, takes a good deal of money to keep in good repair and with pretty furniture. Then there is my work. I am privileged that I Work From Home, so do not have to commute each day to an office, but being self employed does have its own worries. As I have not been involved in my Internet Business for very long, it is very much the early days of this task for me, with many doubts about when money will start to appear. I know in actuality that it will happen in the near future, but a lot of my thoughts are spent on this right now.

So, I do not beat myself up with the fact I cannot remember straight away every parcel I have received. I thank everybody immediately for their presents, before I have time to file that task away as complete, and perhaps this is one of the reasons I do not remember the parcels, it is a completed duty. As my Work From Home involves Online Jobs, I do not need to remember each duty once complete, and I think that this carries on into my personal life. I need to concentrate on jobs which are ahead of me or which I am currently working on, rather than those I have completed.

Also, some search engine results will not really be for exactly what you require. However, it would seem that within the 150million plus entries, there would be some which catch your notice as an area in which you would like to become involved.

Once you have set up your new work lifestyle, you can contemplate how you will spend all those hours which are currently taken up in commuting. In the beginning some of them will probably be used to help you get your new business set up, but in the long term it may be that you could take up a hobby, spend more time with friends and family, have time to relax. You can feel proud for having managed to move away from the frustration each day of putting up with the commute to and from work.
