When you are searching for a job, for whatever reason, the job of trawling through jobs; Online Jobs, jobs in the newspapers, those found through social networking, prospective searches, is very wearying. There is a requirement to keep your CV current and take care that it matches any post you are applying for. Then, so many firms want you to fill out their own application form, your CV does not work for their requirements. All your hard work would appear to be for nothing.
If you do manage to get the process to their liking, you may be fortunate enough to be asked to attend for interview, at which time you spend a lot of time finding out about the company, their services, considering relevant questions for when they ask if you have any questions for them, and you don’t want to ask about bonuses. Then you need to consider some good reasons why you want to work for their company – the fact they are the only firm who have asked you to come for interview in the last three months and you are desperate to accept any work is probably not a good answer, even if it is the real answer.
After all your efforts, you go to the interview and do not get the post, because you are not a 100% match – well could they not identify that from the curriculum vitae or application form you gave them? It is very demoralising and you may lose confidence in your own talents.
Think about it from another point – what other options are on offer to you? How would you want to Work From Home, running your own Internet Business? Maybe you like to be employed by somebody else, you are not adept at book keeping, but you still think you would wish to Work From Home, well look through the net at the Online Jobs available to you, there are so many choices. If you did start up your own Internet Business, then you would not be required to attend a job interview again. You would be your own boss, setting your own working patterns, and being employed in an area for which you already have interest. I am sure there are some adults who like looking for jobs, maybe make something of a hobby of applying for jobs while they are already in a good position, in case their next step up the ladder happens along. However, I think the majority of us see this as a trial, something to be got through in order to find our next post and hoping against hope that we will not need to bother with any of this stuff ever again.
