During my investigation into the options for people who choose to Work From Home, I chose to add myself to the increasing number of adults who are paid for completing surveys on the internet. I was required to register with numerous survey companies in order to confirm I had a wide variety of surveys to undertake.
Their initial information would lead you to the conclusion that if you are prepared to do lots of Online Jobs, filling out surveys, then you can find yourself earning good money and with the bonus of getting prizes too. From my experience I would tell you that this Internet Business is certainly not all it is marketed to be. If you were advised that you could work for 30p an hour, would you want the job? Probably not! Yet with some of these survey businesses, that is what you end up with. There are some which advise they will give £2 to complete a 20 minute survey, but I never appeared to match the profile they were after. I usually was a match for the 10p for 20 minute survey profile.
Added to this, your details are supposed to be private, and you are not supposed to be called by anybody in response to any surveys you undertake, yet on two occasions I was called, once by a holiday company wanting me to purchase their deal (equivalent to timeshare) and again by a company showing how I could clear my credit card debts. Not bad outlay for these businesses, a good way of marketing themselves to people who fit their market, for the sake of 10p!
Other businesses are not survey businesses at all, but want you to search through their cheap airline tickets or clothes. Some wish you to use their online casino and offer you an incentive of a sum of money to spend on your first visit. Be careful, you could lose all that dosh you made on the other survey panel web sites very speedily.
A lot of businesses do not give you money at all, merely points for you to “spend” on articles they have available on their web site – think Green Shield Stamps here – how many points do you actually need to purchase a pair of socks?
Do not get me wrong, there are a number of sites that do actually pay money worth having – one would seem to pay 50p for undertaking a very short survey, which would equate to £6 per hour, but as they do not actually throw many surveys your way, the hour could be spread over a long time period.
So, all in all, if you are choosing to Work From Home, and want Online Jobs which will pay good cash and where you do not feel that you are being ripped off, look at a different Internet Business to survey panels. If, however, you just want to advise people of your opinion on which car, conditioner, or other items you buy, where you like to holiday, what your political views are, and are not financially driven, then this is a good pastime. Keep a note of all the surveys you have undertaken, and the dates, as you will at times be asked if you have undertaken surveys in any of the following areas over the last month, and enjoy, but do not expect it to make you rich.
